A Matter of Life and Death provides experienced and compassionate end-of-life and estate planning for everyone. We can start with just a discussion, or weekly planning sessions right through to a full, comprehensive estate plan which can include drafting a will to creating a burial plan.
We are also able to act as a Professional Estate Trustee (Executor) if you do not have someone in your world willing to take this responsibility on.
Advance planning can save your loved ones a lot of unnecessary stress and potential legal fees. Making these difficult, but important decisions allows you to just enjoy what life has to offer knowing your final wishes and legacy have been taken care of.
Meet Our Consultant
Lisa Jibson, MPA, CEA
Lisa is the President and Owner of Ross Street Agency Inc. and ‘A Matter of Life and Death’. Lisa is a Certified Estate Advisor (CEA) and possesses a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA). She has several years of experience managing estates and acting as a Professional Executor/Estate Trustee.
Previously, I held roles on Parliament Hill, Western Law and a small non-profit international health organization in Ottawa before becoming an entrepreneur. I started my first business in 2014 - Ross Street Agency, after enduring some life challenges in both my health and my career. Later, I added a LegalShield business to my business umbrella as it is a good fit with the work I do for my clients. I decided to incorporate in 2019, and Ross Street Agency Inc. is still going strong.
The idea for Matter of Life and Death evolved after losing a friend unexpectedly in 2021.
Unbeknownst to me she had made me her estate trustee (executor), but never told me. So when she passed, I had this whole new journey to navigate without any answers or advice from her. If she was here, I would thank her as it was that decision she made to trust me with her final wishes that brought me to where I am today.
I work hard every day to provide for my two spoiled dogs: Deacon and Daisy.
